Our History

Once upon a time Lake Wanda was the most desirable lake community in the township. Of course that was back in the 1950's and 1960's. The lake was 20 feet deep and had a slate bottom. The water was crystal clear and you could see all the way to the bottom. The water was treated for weeds on a regular basis and the area was kept clean and free of litter. There was a beautiful beach where the families would get together and have BBQ's. The lake has always been an excellent fishing spot.

If anyone has any stories they would like to share about your experiences on the lake please feel free to email me and I will be happy to add it. Maybe there are some of the older members who know something's from way back when it was a thriving community and have some ideas on what they would like to see again.

Our Future

Our goal is to once again make it a desirable lake community. A place that is family oriented. The more we can accomplish, the better it will be for all. It will add value to our homes as well as our lives. Imagine having guests at your house and bringing them to the beach. Having access to launch a boat to go fishing or just to take a leisurely float around the lake.

Once we own the lake we have some ideas how to make it more accessible and more enjoyable to all the members. One such idea is to clear some land on the island and put some picnic tables out there. If it is possible we would like to add some BBQ facilities also. There will be parking at the very end of Canal Street. We would also like to rebuild the beach. Make it bigger and better than before. There hopefully will be three locations for launching your boat.

There will be portable restrooms available at the beach and island sites.
